Thank you Doctorsaab please try and see the show if you can. Wootz steel was our very own desi supersteel of ancient times. Sadly the know how of making it and more importantly the ore is no more. There is a lot of discussion in this section of IFG on Wootz. Timmy has posted a few threads as well. Do go through them.

Thanks Abhijeet. These chaps had taken the interview more than a year back I think when they came across my thread on Edged Weapons in Prince of Wales Museum. The show was about Ancient India's contribution to the world and one entire show was dedicated to wootz.The Director of the show had already done a huge amount of research on the subject and was a knife enthusiat himself. They borrowed a few of my faux damascus blades for the program as well. Please try and see the program if you can.
