Precihole NX 100 Great accuracy & Power

Post by milind » Mon Nov 17, 2014 10:41 am

Hello Friends!

Last week I bought PH NX 100 Scorpius .22, It got delivered in my absence as was not in town. Today I returned and could not stop myself from unpacking my lovey gun and start shooting. As I did not have printed Target, I have just used handmade target. I just shooted 4 pellets and had to stop because the pellets starts penetrating through my old teak chair. I am very exited to see the great accuracy and the power of the gun.

Posting some of the photos of my practice shooting with PH NX .22 using Master shot (Pointed) Table rested at 9 meters.

Somebody please send the link to download the standard size practice target for 10 & 25 meters. (I can get it printed)

Thanks

Hi Milind,
Congratulations on your acquiring the PH NX100 22 cal AR :D
Firstly - get familiar with the "Safety Rules" in handling your AR.....Follow it each time you handle it!
You may Google "10 metre printed target sheets" - download the image & take out prints...
For your ready reference see below.....

You're welcome :D
Just remember to put a backing pellet stopper like a 1/4" thick metal sheet at the back of your target to prevent any pellet passing through.....to be on the safe side!

Congratulations Milind. I have the same rifle. Still amazed at its power.

Here's my experience with different types of pellets for this AR. Make sure you use pellets with weight of 15 grains and greater.

Precipell - Excellent. They fit snugly into the breach and have the highest accuracy and flatter trajectory even at 35 yards. Close groupings at 15-25 yards.

GSmith High Impact - Very good but I like Precipell better.

GSmith High Speed - Very good. Same as High impact.

Dynapoint (Single Head) - Good. Good accuracy for the price. Cheap pellets but good build.

Master Shot (Export Quality) - Good but groupings are not that close.

Dynapoint (Double Head) - Very average. One reason might be that I got a bad lot of these pellets from Aimco. But couldn't get good groupings from better pellets as well.

Make sure you clean the barrel after every 500 shots and tighten the allen screws. Very critical for accuracy.

Wow Tiger, thanks for the analysis. I have only Master shot (point, round head & double headed). Searching to get some more brands locally but unable to find. Looking for some dealers whose shipping price is lesser.

Yes Briha I will surely follow all the safety measures while handling AR. and I am planning to make one pellet trap with local fabricator (my friend) and Bi-Pod. I will surely post once its done. Thank you for encouraging and providing all sort of information.

Congrats on your new acqusition. Safe shooting. Have fun.

I thought your chair experience was funny.

If you analyse every object in your home you will find that there is nothing that can withstand continuous hammer blows from pellets. Even brick walls will degrade. So take care.

Hard granite and metal more than 3 mm in thickness will generally remain unaffected.

And surprised to see the results of my IHP 35 .22 with same distance and pellets. The pellets did not penetrate through the chair. I think I need little tuning of IHP for accuracy and power. Comments please...

Dear Milind ,
A full tuned IHP must deliver 10+fpe at muzzle and it is quite a power.
From the pic.it seems that it is not reaching to that power level.
I wonder about the type of pellets used.
Best is to get it chronoed.
You may make some idea by using Chronoconnect mobile lite , soft chrono of talonairgun and audacity software.
A trigger pull, less than 1500 grms always helps to tighten group size.

@kshitij Entire setup is same including the chair and pellets. (I have rechecked the pellets and found its Mastershot round head & not pointed as I mentioned previously). My IHP is approximately 18 months old and must have fired at least 3-4 K pellets with it.

@Basu bellow is the pellet used.

In that case either you got a lemon of an IHP airfle or the IHP rifles are seriously under powered!

Hmm.....
I guess, it is delivering 7.5-8 fpe now.
You can improve the power by tuning it properly as Briha ,Moulindu and others have done.
A good tuning will not only improve power but smoothness and accuracy too.
But I doubt wheather or not it will reach power level of NX.
