DIANA SHOTS - Pellets Review
Hello Shooters,
As you all know I am a great fan of shooting. I own some air rifle also.
As we all do the same, Surf through the Internet for some air rifle Stuffs, I too did the same.
I found a site called KOVI BAZAAR the link is http://www.kovibazaar.com/
I found some pellets named DIANA SHOTS Made by the company called MARVELOUS PRODUCTS
I thought of testing them in my rifle so inquired them about the pellets, Surprisingly I got a mail back from KOVI BAZAAR stating that they have seen some of my videos on youtube and they said since this is new in market they would send me some pellets for reviewing. I happily accepted, And within a week i received the Pellets and KOVI BAZAAR team did send me 10 Nos. of Target sheets for testing the pellets.
In the packae it contained 3 varaities pellets
.177 cal FLAT HEADS (200 Nos.)
.22 cal FLAT HEADS (200 Nos.)
.22 cal ROUND HEADS (200 Nos.)
So now the TESTING/REVIEW starts
STAGE 1
First of all I was keen to know the shape of the pellets, Pellets in the box were very good in condition
.177 DIANA SHOT
.22 DIANA SHOT- FLAT HEADS
.22 DIANA SHOT- ROUND HEADS
STAGE 2
I tried to measure the weight of the pellets, I took randomly 10 pellets from each box and found out their weight (Used my pocket scale machine)
.177 cal - 8.8 grains (I believe that it is a bit lesser may be 8.4)
.22 cal flat heads - 13 grains
.22 cal round heads - 11.5 grains
STAGE 3
First info - This depends upon shooter ability also, I am just an Average Shooter.
According to me this is the main part of the testing Accuracy testing for this testing i used two of my air rifles
Ak 500 .22 cal and IHP 35 .177
.177 cal testing - i shot 2 groups of each pellets (10 SHOTS)
I did not have a scope on the IHP while shooting the first 2 groups (OPEN SIGHTS) 12 yards and the last group was shot with a BSA scope mounted 15 yards
I got the scope delivered after i have made the testing, I was using RED DOT SIGHT since it cannot be used for target shooting i used open sights. at 12 yadrs
And after i got the scope delivered i shot 1 group with the scope at 15 yards.
.22 cal testing - I shot the same 2 groups
I had a scope so kept the distance to be 15 yards for all the groups.
FLAT HEADS
ROUND HEADS
These pellets did not suit in my rifle but it was good for IHP - I tested with my friends IHP 35 .22 cal
grouping with IHP 35 .22 (8 Shots)
So these were the results of the testing, These results may even get better with a Good Shooter.
I loved the .177 and .22 flat head pellets.
Main intention was to make a review video on youtube, But i thought of posting this in forum also.
KOVIBAZAAR has a very good Customer service, They gave more more than enough time to complete this review.
would like to thank them also. And if you would like to take a look at the site here is the link again http://www.kovibazaar.com/
I have added the Link of the Review Video also please take a look.
i have even uploaded the Video of Groupings shot seperately. link added in the review video.

Hi Satya,
Good effort in testing the pellets. It is good to see this trend of testing picking up in india too. Best of luck

Sathya - I had done a review of the same pellets a few weeks ago and got the same results as you - i.e much better grouping with Flat Head than Round Heads. Sadly they are now out of stock with Kovibazaar

Re: DIANA SHOTS - Pellets Review
Guys i am not sure about the kind of air pistols available in india but it would be cool if you guys could review those along with the performance of these pellet when shot through them.
I am suggesting this since most people here seem to be shooting at about 10meters most of the time and an air pistol would better suit this distances i feel.
Plus there are no reviews what so ever of the air pistols made in India. Unless ofcourse they are so bad that they are not even worth reviewing

Re: DIANA SHOTS - Pellets Review
well done Sathya....performance of pellets quite similar to that of Bennedose's report ,going on to show the pellets have a pretty good level of consistency.
the pellets appear to be well made with rather thick skirts. interesting the difference in the groupings of the Agni and the Ihp with the round head pellets. is there a wide difference in fps ( velocity ) between the two guns ??

Re: DIANA SHOTS - Pellets Review
There is approx difference of 50 fps between my Ak and my friends IHP
And i do believe that apart from the FPS the grooves in the rifle barrel also matters which pellet suits in the rifle.
May by my Ak kind of rifling did not like the round head pellets.
These are just my opinion.

Re: DIANA SHOTS - Pellets Review
Sathya ....there are so many variables at play it is a difficult to put it down to one or the other. the reason for asking about fps was related to the thick skirts. thick skirts seem more suitable to magnum springers/pcp's. pressure enough to flare the skirt. a 50 fps difference is a 'difference'...almost 2 ft lbs of energy !! the 5.6 size is misleading . the reference should be to head size..which is vital.
