Which is you favourite gun scene in a movie

Post by Ramandeep » Tue Nov 04, 2014 4:37 pm

Hi my fellow IFGians,
Since mostly everyone is fond of movies similarly the guns have been a quintessential part of many movies and have been used in lot of scenes with guns that have made a cult impact both on the cinema lovers and gun enthusiast equally. So lets share our experiences from both and tell what's your favourite gun scene from a movie and probably why and what you feel about it.
Since i started let me put together my favourite gun scenes in a movie, that is really a tough choice I am not including any western cowboy since they would fill up all the ranking slots.

1) Pulp Fiction: Opening scene of the restaurant with Samuel L Jackson pointing the and talking with the robber quote from bible. Sam rocked the scene.

2) Dirty Harry : When Clint Eastwood points the gun and says this is 44 magnum the most powerful handgun in the world, do you feel lucky punk.

3) Heat : The scene after the bank heist for sheer number of the brass spent.

Here are some of mine:

Zulu:

Everyone wants a Martini-Henry!

I know you said no Westerns, but I can't resist!

Rio Bravo:

Go Dino! Still lightning fast!

The Shootist:

They cut off the last minute -- the best part, but this clip is still good.

The Godfather:

The scenes are classic cinema, and Moe Green gets a new point of view.

Casablanca:

It's my favorite movie! (I've seen it 80 or 90 times & know most of it by heart.)

Thalapathi (last minute of the clip):

Kalivardhan finds out too late that you don't mess with THE MAN! Oh! and it just is directed by Mani Ratnam. Oh! Oh! and it just has music by Ilaiyaraaja.

There are some others, but these take a lot of the cream from off of the top of the list for me.

Forrok ji it indeed narrates the story from that point but my intention was to see the gun fight scene.

Excellent thread, Ramandeep! And some excellent posts by others.

Though technically Leatherstocking Tales of Fennimore Copper are some of the earliest Westerns, this is one of my favourite scenes. The perfectionist that Daniel Dey-Lewis is, he is said to have practised and practised until he got loading and shooting a muzzleloader right.

Saving Private Ryan: Sniper scenes

Lock,Stock and Two Smoking Barrels: Bren scene

My favourites are some of the all time classics I believe

The stairway shootout in The Untouchables....

Road to Perdition.... the Thomson in the rain.... the sound effects and visual treat made this a classic

Technically the best close quarter double tap ever screened .... Tom Cruise in Collateral

And the reason why the scene was so authentic... Tom Cruise practiced with the same gun but with real ammo for days.. That's how they do it guys

The bloodbath in Taxi Driver.... Robert de Niro's epic role

There are more but you guys carry on. Great thread

True Vikram, but that way the screen size is small. Or Is there any way of watching them in full screen on IFG page itself
