Donno if the heat treat and blade edge will come out right. Cant see any flaws in the design but i am not absolutely certain of it either.

So once i have the above sorted and i have tired it out in a few design combinations, I will surely send one to you. After all, you are the first person asking me for it

I'm not sure, but the electroplating might improve looks at the cost of the quality of the blade.

Buddy i was speaking of electroplating brass or copper finish on the satinless steel handles. Not the knife. The knife only gets a sharp edge and a dab of oil

Brihaji, that coming from you means a lot

This is my first hand made diy knife. My hands have gone sore from all the filing and sanding but that doesnt wipe off the smile this knife puts on my face every time i see it

Theres definitely more to come

Oh, okay, the handle. Well, I'd say plastics (incl stuff like G10 & Micarta), ebonite or real wood, rather than fancy metal finishes. Wood is excellent for this knife, actually.

I suggested this design to Kshitij as a lark, and the next thing I know, my WhatsApp is full of pics of the finished product!! The time from product concept to prototype would have given the super-engineers at Toyota a severe case of envy!

Superb work, buddy! And the feel of the finished product in your hands always acts as a balm for the blistered palms..........

You can try getting your hands on a few pieces of hardwood flooring tiles. I got some from Moin, and they are really nice to work with. If you can cut out the basic shape with a laser that would be even better (I don't know if wood can be cut with lasers!).

You can try the Becker Kabar series for your next inspiration. Or the Boker Plus line or the Esees.

Thanks for the compliments

Will finish of the peasant knife as best as possible. I have the bk9 on my mind next. Have the steel for it ready too. Was looking up small belt sanders online, saw the grizzly 3140. The site says it is for wood but i guess it should work fine grinding metal too. Any suggestions?
For the handles, i have asked my carpenter to source few wood pieces with good grain or "figure" as he calls it. Once that comes it, should have few handles in wood too.
