My New Rifle, New Review AK 500 .22

Post by sathya.sniper » Thu Oct 09, 2014 12:25 pm

Hello Everyone,
I have got a new rifle, A very better performer than IHP (My IHP which had for making review)
Actually got it around a month ago but was waiting for making a review post to get used with the rifle.
Now its done.
I have made a Review Video as per my knowledge too.
The beauty is here.
Rifle: AK AGNI 500
Action: Breakbarrel
Caliber: .22
Powerplant: Spring Piston
Scope: Centerpoint 3-9x32

This rifle has lots of good things to be numbered.
some of them are as follows.
The Rifle has a Ball Bearing breech closing system. This make the rifle a smoother loading / closing than the wedge type of closing hatch
I have replaced the breech seal to a O-Ring
Image
The Loading/Cocking Lever of the rifle also has a different method of cocking.
The lever does not comes out a long way instead moved directly backwards.
Image
The Rifling of the barrel is so nice, Anyone would love to see such a good rifling
Image
Velocity: the rifle Averages around 560 fps after tuning (15 grn pellet)
Accuracy: This is the part where this rifle dominates other rifles, I love this part
I tested many varities of pellets the rifle seems to like Approx 15 grn pellets
The 3 pellets which wins the race were.
3rd place Mastershot Wadcutters (Flat Heads)
2nd place Gsmith High Force (Flat Heads)
1st Place Precipell Field Target (Round Heads)
Rifle accuracy with wadcutters Before tuning
5 Shot (15 Yards) kneeling
Image
After Tuning: Precipell Field target pellets
5 Shots (15 yards) kneeling
Image
This rile is hitting match sticks shots after shot at 15 yards
I have added those clips in My Review Video.

The review video is down here, Please share your ideas. Pardon for any mistakes
The audio was not clear, sorry. i will arrange a Mic next time to make it more audible.

Good review sathya , AK AGNI 500 is a underrated rifle among airgunners.please elaborate the tuning procedures (parts changed etc) ,it will definitely help members in buying a accurate yet powerful airgun in affordable price range.

Tuning procedure was not so a difficult task.
> Opened up the rifle.
> The chamber of the rifle does not need any honing process, its already very polished inside.
> So cleaned up the chamber using Thinner / Spirit.
> Cleaned up all the parts using the same Thinner / Spirit.
Polished the sear area of the Trigger and Piston.
> The rifle was shipped with a Leather Piston seal , Replaced it to a New DIANA 34 Synthetic Piston seal.
> Changed the factory spring to a New Gsmith Model 35 Spring.
> Lubrication is the most important thing to be done, Lubricated all the parts with finest grease on market (Used for the inner bearing of Cars Wheels)
> Fixed everything back and shot 5 shots for the dieseling to get over.
> Then removed the breech seal and Replaced with Rubber O-Ring.
> Cleaned the barrel with a homemade Pull through kit.
> Then Zeroed the rifle with open sights so that the rifle settles down a bit more with reduced vibrations
> The fixed my scope zeroed the Rifle and its all finished.
The rifle is good to go.

Regards.

Congratulations on your new love.
Hope you did not lube the piston seal with grease. If you have, would suggest you immediately clean it up and use molly grease specifically for the seal.

The last thing you want is damage to the piston chamber.

Super looking airgun Sathya. How is the recoil of the gun? Does your scope hold zero with it being a break barell?

Thank you Kesh,
As you can notice in the review video I have taken a shot with the rifle.
In my experience the recoil is so less like a NX100 May be a bit higher than NX since the rifle is heavier. The weight of the rifle reduces the recoil a lot.

My scope, i am much more happy with it.
I zeroed my scope only once after tuning the rifle, still now its pellet on pellet.
Scope: No problem.

Thank you very much
Yes my scope is a springer rated scope. (Torture Tested)
I have attached the rail using a Epoxy compound, do not know the name just like the same of Araldite but black compound.
