Well folks, I'll be spending 3 weeks between Chennai and Rajapalayam come September. I was hoping for help on a few items;
First, I was hoping someone may be able to refer me to a competent attorney to help pave the way for when I eventually wish to bring some firearms on a TR.
Secondly, what would folks recommend to bring that is unregulated? I had planned to bring an air pistol for my brother in law but see that will be difficult. Perhaps a pocket knife? Any other thoughts?

why not check out the legal and RKBA thread as this has been trashed out so much that a new therd is pointless.

We have discussed this before sir, you don't need an attorney. Some firearms NO you can only bring in one non prohibited bore at per visit. Curious to know what have finalized onsomeone may be able to refer me to a competent attorney to help pave the way for when I eventually wish to bring some firearms on a TR.
Regarding air pistols one needs to be a member of a National, state or district level rifle association to be able to to import one.
Regarding knives many of my friends got in knives through check in luggage, they made no objections at the customs. Its however just my belief that gifting knives break up relationships....
