TC I happened to find this interesting balisong lying around. Got it from a guy in the Philippines, no markings; nice brass work and the grips are peculiar, lots of character.
I don't know much about knives - what do you think of this example? Would appreciate your feedback.

TCda,
Words fail me after seeing those pics.
Meanwhile, I can only hope that the shin gunto is in safe hands.

Hi TC
Was travelling around a bit but always make it a point to log in and read posts by so many like minded people. This has become a routine of sorts
Cheers
PS love some of the hand guns you have.

Kalyan Da,
Thats a wonderful balisong you have. Completely handmade, brass liners, brass pins and genuine stag panels in the grip. The blade is hammer forged the traditional way it seems.
This is a collector's piece. Save it

Coming from a man who himself makes wonderful blades, I am humbled
The shun gunto is in the safest hands I could find on Indian soil. He won't let it out of his sight.
Actually I am completely overhauling my collection... the types, the periods etc.

TC, great collection! You have many areas/cultures/types represented -- so diverse! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much Timmy, timmy wrote:TC, great collection! You have many areas/cultures/types represented -- so diverse! Thanks for sharing.
You have rightly observed. The only unity in this diversity is the word "blade" I guess
Its been a while since I changed my focus a bit. May come up with some surprises soon.
Best
