Is importing bayonets illegal ? need quick response

Post by TC » Wed Jul 16, 2014 5:02 pm

Need quick response from legal experts.

Is there a ban on importing military bayonets of foreign origin with less than 9 inch blade, both edges sharp and serial no stamped ?

Is there a ban on possession of knives with less than 9 inch blade and both edges sharp ?

If answer to both questions is a "yes" then how can Olive Planet sells M7 and M9 bayonets and reproduction of British commando knives, all being imported from US and UK ?

My query however is purely personal and not related to Olive Planet. Just want to know the law in an emergency situation

Thanks in advance

TC

the word bayonets will throw people off. otherwise look at it as a knife/blade with a hole in the handle for a bamboo stick to into for fishing.

TC found a HS classification and % of Duty applicable - so the item should be acceptable for import! Please check link
