New work in progress

Post by wingsoffires66 » Sun Mar 23, 2014 12:45 am

Namaskar
Absolutely glad to be on this forum .Allow me to express my gratitude towards the IFG team, all of this has been a great learning and experience not only limited to arms but life.Never really met physically but have shared the thought processes and its a great connection.Thankful to IFG team to host this party. :cheers:
Studied everything time could permit and started off only some time ago. Was lucky and the blades turned satisfactory for the first attempt {Could keep the lines straight.} .Was asked to make a couple of blades by friends and luckily they turned out good too .Lets see how these turn out this time.Constructive criticism is highly requested.
Steel :o2
Operations :
1.annealing after thick bevels are made. I used a angle grinder to cut these hence the lattice formations must be pretty messed and further disturbed due to using an angle grinder again to bevel.
2.Drilling holes
3.Refining the blade{elbow grease strictly}
4.Hardening in coal fire upto non magnetic temperature and quench in used preheated engine oil.
5. Tempering : in an oven for 2 hours
6. Break test: to check weather the blade or tip has enough flexibility and not brittle
7.finishing blade and covering it with abro tape
8.making sheesham /wenge handles and araldite it to the handles with brass pins
9.Remember to click pictures and post it here :oops:

Kindly suggest.

Really Thankful
