Re: good hunting/shikaar movies?
Hmmmm, i'm foxed. scratching my brains for names i'd remember with fondness, but none appear (so far), apart from "the ghost...". i wasn't too fond of Hatari, and the recent BBC?ITV?channel 4? effort on the man eating leopard of rudraprayag was worse than big brother (honestly!). Having said that, it's just my opinion, and i'm sure others have found them good (my father swears on Hatari).
So, i'll vote for "the ghost.." then, even if jim patterson will turn in his grave to see michael douglas sharing the glory (usual hollywood .script twist ). but it's still great entertainment, and jerry goldsmith's soundtrack is simply divine !

Maybe we all should sign up a petition stating that we should have a few controlled game reserves throughout the country and send it to the respective authorities.
Also in North India (UP) there are adverts in the paper placed by authorities that animals (Nilgai) entering the fields can be shot.
Can anyone in the North clarify this???

Dear snIPer
Ref your quote below,
"Also in North India (UP) there are adverts in the paper placed by authorities that animals (Nilgai) entering the fields can be shot.

I have heard the following,
You apply for permit to shoot the Pests, to the local village Pradhan, who in turn will get it certified from the Local forest office, this permit is valid for only a day or 2 at the most, & if necessary a forest official might accompany you. (Which never happens) but you must be an active farmer in possession of agricultural land & with a valid gun license.
(PS:I am a luck man)
