.32 vs NP Bore Handgun
Hi !
I have a query, my arms license states that it is for .32 Bore - now the query is that am i restricted to .32 bore or can i still go ahead and purchase any NP bore handgun?
This query might amuse some of you, but its a genuine query, as some one informed me that i can purchase any NP bore hand gun and it wont be an issue - which i find hard to believe.
Regards,
Ankush

Hello ankush
If your license mentions pistol, it means you are permissable to purchase any NP bore pistol and if it says revolver , it is understood you can purchase any NP bore revolver.
You can buy any calibur pistol or revolver ( whatever your license mentions), provided it is NP bore.

Hi Ankush,
If your licence specifically mentions .32 bore it means you have to buy a .32 bore only.
Had you been granted a licence for NP bore you could have bought any NP bore handgun.
What I find interesting is that you say your licence says only .32 bore. Doesn't it mention .32 bore pistol or .32 bore revolver ? Or, .32 bore pistol / revolver ?
Cheers

Very strange I must say. As per the arms act licenses are issued under three categories 1. Pistol/Revolver 2. Shotgun SB/ DB 3. Rifle. A license issued by the local police is always for a NPB as PB has to be approved by the MHA. Never head of a license issued for .32 bore only. I suggest you have a word with your licensing authority.aaroraa wrote:Hi !

Been hearing such stupidity happening in Delhi. Licenses specifically mentioning pistol or revolver , absurd.

Hi friends
I have been visiting this forum for some years (perhaps since 2007) but registered only few months back, after I joined a rifle club in 2014 & purchased ihp national 35 for shooting practice. I also applied for arms licence this year (after an earlier futile attempt in 2008) & got one for .32 pistol recently. Promptly booked ashani at gsf. All this was largely possible by guidance available at this forum offered by veteran members. Thanx to all of u...
