It is not fair to compare IHP air rifles ( cost Rs.5500/- ) with Precihole air rifles ( cost 11000/- ).
Precihole ARs may be far better but they cost just double the cost of IHP ARs. At Rs. 5500/- , IHP is providing a decent product. Please do not forget that , before the advent of Precihole ARs, Senior members like Brihcharan sir were able to achieve half inch groupings at 10 meters - in standing position , with IHP air rifle. In my humble opinion, IHP ARs are a boon for those who can not afford to shell out Rs. 11000/- for an Indian made AR.

Have a few questions for Brihaji and other seniors here (on the 5500 v/s 11000 question):

1. Did you achieve 1/2 inch groups with out-of-the-box IHPs or modded / tuned ones?
2. What was the cost of tuning? Request if you could provide recent costs (to adjust for inflation).
3. & 4. Same question for Preciholes.

Now, I don't have any personal enmity with IHP, but I just can't stand monopolisers. I remember having long arguments with my Dad who happened to be a fan of that lousy automobile which ruled Indian roads purely as a result of exploitative monopoly - the Amby.
Cheers!

> To be honest as of date I have spent a tad more than Rs.8500/-(not to mention my travelling costs & my knowledge cost) that includes cost of imported spring, machining SS rear guide + top hat, synthetic seal, anodizing the receiver, scope rail, muzzle brake, original Diana 35 rear sight, specially designed & machined front sight mounted on muzzle brake, adding thrust bearing to the piston & giving it a Ni-Chrome coating..... The original cost of my IHP35 was Rs.4100/! Now if you add all up, it works out to approx: Rs.12,600.00 ROTFL

Thanks, Brihaji! Now you have spent a lot of time, energy, and effort in the tuning process, by doing a lot of things yourself. Now, many people (myself included) may just give the gun to a gunsmith to tune up, and hence lose out on the most important thing you have gained - satisfaction and knowledge. So, if I have to rely on "vendors" to give me a finished product I am satisfied with, why not get a out-of-the-box good product instead of aftermarket (non-DIY) mods?
Cheers!

We have a long way to go.....
...... to the stage where one walks into a Big Bazaar or Reliance Fresh with an Aadhar Card or Driving License, and walks out with an AR15 and 5000 cartridges!! To quote Tagore "in that heaven of Freedom, my Lord, let my Country awake......."!!!
Cheers!

"In that heaven of Freedom, my Lord, let my Country awake"

After 3 score & seven years
do we know the true meaning of Freedom

Leave alone heaven
we're just a step away from hell

In the salubrious clime of Sonar Bangla
Gurudev had all the time to dream

Lucky was this scion of a Zamindar
never he for a living had to work

His paeans inspired generations without a break
sadly though to its reality we're yet to AWAKE!!!
