Season Opener - Fishing On Lake Michigan - Video Added

Post by conty1 » Thu May 01, 2014 7:04 am

So took my dad out to Lake Michigan on Lake Shore drive in downtown Chicago. My friend Sunny has been boasting about how his 'power line fishing' is a lot of fun etc. So we picked him up at 7:00 AM and made it to the lake by 9(Rush hour). The setup took about 20 minutes but once that was done it was all fun and games - literally!! It was fun hand reeling in huge Cohos and the foggy but mild weather made it a fun outing.

Cheers,
Amit

That sounds and looks great, Conty! Lake Michigan is a magic place. Even the storms can be fun, if you aren't out there in a boat when they happen! Nice pics!

Good catch Conty, what bait did you use?
When i was there last time i spent a couple of hours and ended up empty handed - a bait tip will be helpful on my next visit :-)

Personal preference - Minnows!! I seen people use powerbait and spoons and night crawlers and the works!! But I like my minnows!!

Let me know when you are here next!!

Cheers,
Amit

Conty, as a kid, I used to go to the Indiana Dunes. We could see Chicago well, especially from the top of Mt. Tom. The curvature of the Earth made it look as if Chicago was floating in the Lake.

I hardly get back anymore, unless it is for a sad occasion.

But there is so much to enjoy there and Chicago is a great city! That's why I appreciated your pics
