Hi guy's , I am agree with you about 1911's. All the top manufacturers ( include Para Ordnance) made 1911's and many of you know that I am big fan of 1911's.
I don't know why 1911 not make it to the top 10 guns in US? But if you can see all the top shooter in open and stranded division in IPSC,IDPA or USPSA ,90% shooters shoot 1911's.
At this point I like to share my Para 1911's collection. So you know that 1911's all ways stick around and not going anywhere for long time,no matter what's the people think about 1911's.

Here is a pictures of my Para.
1st.on right my Para in .45ACP
2nd.on left my custom Para (IPSC)in .40S&W
3rd.on right again my Para LDA in .40S&W

Nice collection there Baljit,
Are these Canadian Para's or USA Para's? I have no personal experience with Para's but have heard that there is a difference between the two. How is the LDA action compared to traditional single action for 1911?

When I said Remington 1911, I was thinking of this:

rather than the WW2 Government issue pistols.

Lately I've been telling folks there are 3 handguns in the US:
1) - 1911
2) - Glock
3) - Everything else

at first I said the 3 categories have roughly the same market share... I'd say it might even be closer to 40-40-20% that's just a guess seeing pudlic ranges, open carry guns and talking to shooters....

at the public range its about even between the 3
at a practical pistol match, maybe 45-45-10
at a bullseye pistol match its more like 100-0-0% between the 3 categories.

oh and there are only 2 rifles in the US.... 1) AR-15 and 2) everything else.

Hi Bill,
Do you have an AR-15? If so, could you post a photo and description of it in the AR-15 thread?

baldabe,Thanks

Yes these are Canadian made Para's.Since Para move to US there quality are not the same any more.
LDA is double action 1911's, If I am not wrong,I think Para is the first manufacturers introduce 1911's in double action. I really enjoy this gun as well.

Ashokgodara,
The picture of the pistol your dealer calls Remington 1911 is surely not a Remington Rand of 1942-45 era. The barrel is 4" and I am pleasantly surprised if this ones exists in India. This one happens to be an officers model or a Commander series. Besides its been dolled up with spares available in American gun market such as skeletonised trigger and hammer. Should make a nice carry gun if for sale at reasonable cost. The recoil management is another matter though.
