Price of an IOF .22 rifle?

Now that "Pran" has got his rifle licence.
We have decided to go in for an IOF .22
The price quoted here is around Rs48300/= (for a new weapon)
Is that the going price ?
Just wanted to double check before we pick it up next week.

Yes thats the price,but the local armouries charge little extra .i paid 65,0000 including bluing and stock finish.

When factory price was 29,000 dealers sold a blued & finished stock for 35K , now price being 48K should be avail. for within 60K. I heard IOF .22 rifle were in short supply . Just confirm that.

Checked with a dealer here today. Price inclusive of tax, freight and his margin etc. comes to anywhere between 55-60,00/-.

I have ordered a rifle yesterday. Rs 53000/00 plus cost of sending a bloke to kanpur and back.

I seem to be missing something here.

Is it still the IOF .22 Sporting Rifle that's being discussed here?

The IOF website states its price @ Rs 30,700 plus taxes as applicable.

It also indicates that its manufactured (and maybe also only available) at the Rifle Factory, Ishapore.

I remember speaking to them mid last year about availability and price, and remember them quoting about approximately Rs 38,000 including taxes, and that waiting period was just about 2 months.

Has anything changed since then that anyone here knows of?

I am buying from a dealer . I sold off my .311bore rifle and have a couple of months to buy a new one. I wanted to buy one before the elections are announced and make transport of weapons difficult.

.22 rifles are in short supply. The dealer has to charge sales tax or whatever the UP version of it is and he will take his margin. I got a 2012 version. My local dealer searched Delhi but could only get a 2009 one which I did not want to buy. Another gentleman I know has been unable to come with one in over 10 days.

In any case, my dealer has promised to buy it back at the price I had to pay any time I wish to dispose it off.

Spoke to the factory today and their rate is 47k, looks like you got yourself a fantastic deal @ 49k!
