this is my double barrel shot gun. my grandpa having tis..its very old..can anyone tel me about its? c the pic and analyse..ther some words in the chamber u zoom and view tis...OAKES and etc.. advance thks

IMHO this gun was made before 1856 in birmingam.its very hard to find manufaturer as i cant see what is written on sideplate of gun if you can read you have found your manufaturer.dont upload pictures which are in mbs.no won is going to look at your attachmentss as they are so lenthy for a 2g connection thanks

I FOUND FRNDS...IN CHAMBER THE WORDS BELOW ARE WRITTEN

OAKES AND CO LTD,,AND IN BARREL ( SPECIALLY MADE FOR OAKES & CO LTD)

AND THE NUMBER PRINTED IN TOP OF THE BARREL IS 1714 AND BOTTOM OF THE BARREL NUMBER IS 01714.

THERE IS A CROWN SYMBOL ARE PRINTED (ENGRAVING) BOTTOM OF THE FIRING NOZZLE .

AND SAME SYMBOL IS IN THE BOTTOM OF THE BUTT MADE BY METAL.=300]

AND THE NAME ( D/120 AND CROWN ) ARE ALSO PRINTED CENTER OF THE RIGHT SIDE BUTT.

Hi Friend,

In earlier day i have seen same muzzle loader DBBL, but this is in very good condition. And the information which i get from old man is, am sharing with you as same.

This is muzzle loader a 150+ year old might be manufactured in an around 1850 or 55 it was used by Royal Navy and Royal Army in India and in other part's of the world during the mutiny of 1857.

You are very luck man, This is a very rare piece, so please please take care of it.
