I bought it from Punjab. Few dealers in Punjab have got delivery of these rifles and others are expecting to receive them soon

Urgent help needed please. I am being offered a 2008 manufactured iof .22 rifle. The dealer says it's still in its original packing and it is new.

Do you guys think I should go for it? He says no modifications have been made by Iof to these rifles for the past few years and the bedding of the barrel in the stock may even be better than more recent ones.

I have to let him know within a few days so please help.

Thanks in advance.

The stock is now made of walnutwood. Previously it was Treated rubberwood. I suggest you make a good bargain. Anyway what is his offer price? who is the dealer?

Is walnut stock more durable? I have had a preliminary talk only, he is sticking to the current price of 48000 plus 5000 as his commission. I do not know the Delhi dealer but it's Capital Guns in Patna.

Thanks veeveeaar. Your input helped me junk that old rifle.

The factory PDF file says cost is 42810/00. Has anyone bought from dealers recently? How much has .22 cost?

Dear all. Besides the change in wooden furniture, there are many useful features added/upgraded in new .22 iof rifle like chrome flashed barrel, new adjustable fore & rear sights, dovetail to accomodate telescope etc (go to iof website). My suggestion is to go only for new ones if the price difference is not too much.

My friend has made a hatrick by winning three golds and myself one silver in TN state and south zone meet using IOF.22. For that price it is really a rolls royce.

There are some wise people like our esteemed friend who have a fancy for such comments. As an engineer , and a avid shooter with an experience and luck of handling many world renowned gun brands, We have to take pride of the fact that IOF .22 and IOF 30-006 are really worth the money and you get them as VIRGINS in the first place . Secondly the powder vapor coating is more durable than any blueing on record . (If you really take these guns outdoor on a day to day basis ) . Thirdly the hard chrome flashing technology is nearly impossible at this price . If our esteemed friend can find can find me a .22 with all the features as an IOF .22, at that price I can also join him in making S* *t of IOf. We are very fortunate to get one at that price. Please think and talk as a common INDIAN man .

Accuracy of iof .22 rifle is satisfactory. I recently tried my friend's .22 iof rifle at DRA Bijnor's shooting range. Though the grouping was small but I found that it was hitting about more than an inch below
the point of aiming. May it differ from rifle to rifle (or shooter to shooter). Here is 13 shots group ( not standard because of limited quantity of ammo.) fired from kneeling position at 50 meter range.

What ammo did you use ? KF old copper ammo is very erratic. The new KF brass ammo is fine, Just bench rest the rifle and fire 5 shots .If they are consistent, adjust the sights to that POI.
