Remington A303 chambered in 30-06 in India
To my better informed friends in India and elsewhere ... How much would a Remington A303 battle rifle chambered in 30-06 go for in India ?
The rifle is in good condition, shoots great and is very accurate. I have verified this at the NSG range near Delhi. All paperwork legal and complete.
Any inputs ?

First you'd have to explain what a "Remington A303 battle rifle... chambered in 30-06" is. It has to be a one-of-a-kind unique rifle. There just ain't no such critter. Is it a Remington made P1917, or a M 1903A3 Springfield made by Remington?thesinfulsaint wrote:To my better informed friends in India and elsewhere ... You are correct TR, it is M1903A3 made by Remington Arms and thanks for picking that out. Here is a pic, if the link works:

Used in 2nd WW and Korean conflict alongside M1 Garand. Any speculation on the present value in India ?

Are you looking for a WW2 relic? Or do you want a rifle in .30-06? If your choice is the latter, why not buy a brand new IOF?

Thanks MG, it is a very helpful reference and it seems like a lot of cash.
@Katana - I'm not looking to acquire it. I have one and wanted to get an idea how much it is worth, if I decide to put it up for sale.

Assuming that you are in Texas, USA and you intend to sell it in India. That would entail it being imported into India under the TR and Baggage Rules. AFAIK, weapons import under such conditions cannot be sold in the open market.
If you just want a ball park figure, assuming that the rifle was already present in India, I would peg it at a max value of 1 Lac+ depending on it's condition.

Katana dont break the guys heart ,Saint hi,you know its helpful if you post the pictures of the gun,{though pictures cant give one the exact value, but still they help},where is the gun based, have you shown it to a A/A dealer,is it on a N.P License or a P.Bore license, its very difficult for anyone to quote a price without having the basic inputs,do try & post some details of the gun in question and i am sure you will get a rough quote on the same.Best AmitKatana wrote:Assuming that you are in Texas, USA and you intend to sell it in India. Thanks for all the info guys but I should have explained a little more elaborately earlier. But never too late. The firearm is indeed in India and my dad when he retired from the army, purchased it from ordinance depot at Jabalpur. It is licensed under his name.
If ~1 lakh is all I can get then I better hold onto it )
I did have some pics of it and will find them, if not will get them from Dad.
