Smoothbore Airgun

Post by snIPer » Fri Jun 01, 2007 9:21 am

Hi,
I have a .22 (5.6) Smoothbore Sisco airgun with a Daisy scope mounted on it (pic in my "Avatar")- Ive heard that Lead / Steel BBs can be used in this but havent tried it - does anyone have any idea if this is so.
I have effectively used pellets so far - Wadcutters are very accurate but limit the range.

Yes, you can use lead BBs in a smoothbore. Not sure about steel balls though.

Sorry, I have no idea about range, accuracy or availability.

Gun shops sell loose shot for muzzle loaders. See if you can get some appropriate sized ones. Price is approximately Rs.100.00 per kilogram.

You can also shoot darts through a smooth bore. This should be good fun if you use a dart board as a target.

I've tried that but the range and accuracy doesn't seem to be good beyond 10 mtrs also because the dart is loosely packed there are chances that the washer might get banged up a bit. - a bit OT Have you seen the shotgun? are they legal in India?

Never used a shotgun airgun myself, but from what I have read written online (by people who have tried it) - it seems to be a useless piece of kit for all practical purposes...

Cheers!

FYI - I tried a box of Round head pellets and they grouped very well at 10 mtrs - Will try some BBs by Monday and let you know how that goes.
