what to apply for...mark3 or mark4 ?

That's very true farook bhai..but itz very difficult to conceal carry it..more over mk4 is newest model with few better modifications (hope so )..so I stick with mk4..

There is something else worth mentioning here. The revolver fires a .32 SW long which has a muzzle velocity of 700 and 775 in your mark 3 and anmol respectively. The ammo .32 sw itself is under powered as against a .32 acp used in a ashani pistol which has a much better 950 feet per sec. More over a revolver does not balance as well as pistol where the heavier parts are with in your grip. Save your money and buy a pistol instead.

has nothing to do with pistol or revolver. And fps.. we wil fire within 30 feet which is effective range of iof revolver nd pistol..I dnt think a difference of 200 feet per second in a 30 feet effective range wil make any decisive difference...more over whn it comes to self defence one wil surely opte for imported ammo..like wedcutters.thats why im appling for mk4 with better nd thick barrel.. so tht I can go on bang bang with full metal jacket hollow points..

Great.... saf authority today returned my application of mk4 revolver...thy said mk4 is not yet ready for delivery..it wil need at least 6 more months to be delivered..so thy wil not accept mk4 revolver application..but on their web site thy r still asking for mk4...wht a great govt. Organization. .

As advertised by FGF Kanpur, anmol has chrome line barrel where as mk III is not chrome lined.
Also AFAIK mk4 will have chrome barrel.

Perfectoinest im interested in mk4. Anmol nd mk4 r not same..I know mk3 is a good revolver but mk4 has few modification over mk3 so I want to get mk4. Vineet ... as told by saf the barrel nd chamber wil be thinker, hard crome in both barrel nd chamber...nd some new technology called cold swaggering is used to manufacture th mk4..

When I called the factory last month, the marketing cell representatives had NO clue whatsoever about the Mark IV - no information about the specifications of the gun, no information on what the difference would be between the III & the IV (he actually told me that "he heard that it may be lighter"), no information on waiting period post booking. Funny how these people operate and expect the patrons to book/purchase blindly. Sigh.

Really god know who appoints thm nd on wht basis..once whn I call thm one guy replied im only sitting in front desk...guys in factory who r manufacturing mk4 thy wil only know abt mk4..wht the hack of a reply..I wonder why thy r appointed..thy know nothing wht is going on thr..whn I go thr to collect my piece I wil surely meet the top authority nd inform thm of this sad state of affair. .

After phonetic conversion with saf nd ram singh I hav again applied for mk4 revolver on 30/12/13..as thy hav said thy r taking registration of it. My al is getting expired on 30/1/14..so if I get confirmation of my registration in tht basis i can renew my licence or I wil be in trouble..

My 2nd dd also got cancelled as thy claim over writing on dd. .But th good news is tht my 3rd application for mk4 got registered today.saf guy told me tht I may get delivery date on april.At least I can renew my pp on th basis of it. The saf guy told me tht on mk4 barrel nd chamber thy r using a new material. I asked abt th material but he doesnt hav any idea. Any one on ths forum who also applied for mk4.? Any one got delivery date..?

I believe it has a thicker chrome lined barrel

I have mark 3 of 2011 model never have any problems except tight trigger with use of spray it is more smooth I have fired shots both in single and double action .In single action there is certainly more force can be seen from depth of dint at cap in single action. In double action u have practice more no problem at all with revolver.Yes some people has sparks going bacckwards it is due to nature of hold on weapon .My revolver is of FGK some handlers say FGK revolvers r better than SAF .As per accuracy out of 6 4 hit the target 2 missed the target were fired from 23 meters distance and in double action. Other were in 20 meters range those missed the target did hit one at 28 meters and other close to 30 meters,It depends upon fresh amno the dealer gave me fully sealed packet with date of manufacter.
