hi,

in feb of 2003 i purchased a 1995 model gypsy (not king) for 1.25 lakhs at a government auction in jaipur, i spent about 10k to fix it up, mainly on the 4wd gears and cogs. i sold it in may 2004 for 1.25 lakhs, so i lost about 10 k in 14 months on the thing. around that same time i was offered a model 2000 gypsy king st for 2.5 lakhs, which had done about 24000 km. i did not buy it as i had decided to buy a brand new gypsy king. it did actually sell for 2.5 lakhs a some time later.

so 1.75 lakhs is certainly not steep for a 1998 gypsy king st

the current ex - show room price out here is Rs 496718, so it ends up costing over 5.5 lakhs on road.

:)

Seen this guy's M800 taking more abuse than a Gypsy. It's certainly very well maintained for car that's run more than 80k.

Not bragging but trust me when I say that you haven't even seen a quarter of what it is capable off. I will be very sad to see it go as there are tons of memories attached to her. I just hope she goes to a good home.

Bought the Gypsy today and here she is:

Congrats Mack The Knife. The Gypsy looks great.Liked the colour.

How much did you pay for the Gypsy?

Are those lights in the front bright or are they just cosmetic fittings?

Sanjay, it's the same Gypsy that was discussed earlier on in this thread - 1998 model and 48,239 kms.

Thanks. The kids are having a ball and keep making me go over speed breakers so that they can be tossed up in the air.

That's between me and the buyer but let's just say I will be selling the shotgun to fund this purchase.

Will let you know when I get a chance to try them.

Just a few kilometers so far. An outdoor trip will have to wait for a month or so.

It is indeed very well maintained, both externally and internally.

Sniper,

The price range for a Gypsy in this condition will vary between 1.3 and 2.5 lakhs in Bangalore. Anything between 1.3 and 1.5 lakhs should be considered a good deal.

If I remember (not being cheeky), I definitely will.

Whilst checking the online classifieds I came across a 2002/4 white Gypsy King that is mostly driven in Chandigarh but the owner is in Bangalore. I think it has done 20 odd thousand kilometers. The price, unfortunately, is upwards of 2 lakhs. However, I'll find the ad for you and you could speak to the owner.

Sniper,

Herewith the ad for the Gypsy I mentioned earlier. I am afraid the price is a lot more than I thought it was. However, it may be worth calling he seller as he may not have been able to sell at that price.
