hi,
i did post the beretta s56e photos on the forum earlier. i will post the miroku photos as soon as i find time to click them.
and anyway i have gone for the miroku (the local ADM is getting very worked up about my constant buying/selling of arms).
i think japanese guns are just like japanese cars, reliable products, nothing very exciting but get the job done.
i know beretta has better brand value than a miroku and will have better resale value as well, but is also costs more to start with and in india the difference can be quite large.
in my case the miroku cost me a full 1/3 less than the S 56 E. thats enough money for ammution for a full years practice at the range in jaipur.

Re: miroku shotgun
Rajat,
Some Japanese guns can be very, very good - Miroku made the Browning BSS sidelock SxS shotguns which are very highly regarded for their price. The Browning A-5s that they made were as good as if not better than the Belgian made ones.
I don't think you have anything to feel bad about at all.
Cheers!
PS As far as Beretta are concerned, I posted my personal experience with one at a store here some time ago. There have also been comments on various forums about new Beretta guns in their bread and butter series failing to eject after just a few hundred rounds. While brand chasers may find names attractive, rest assured that you have bought a gun from a company whose products have never been faulted for poor performance. With a profit from your sale, you have nothing to do but feel good. Cheers again!

Thanks Rajat!
Do love the contrast of the coin finished receiver and the deeply blued barrels!
Should be a superb shooting gun to have fun with.
Congratulations and thanks for the pics in particular. Good shooting!

Just saw a Miroku in action. A 16 year old boy was shooting extremely well with it. As I know you are concerned about its performance at the next shooting competition I asked the boy and his father what they thought of the gun. Both are extemely happy with its performance. They also bought it second hand in England.
One caution : It had two misfires in 200 shots fired over two days. I checked the cartridges myself. Could be that the firing pin has had enough and needs to be replaced. I doubt if there was anything wrong with the ammo. Cant say for sure.
Hope you are getting some "Trap" practice.

Re: miroku shotgun
The miroku is a Japanese shotgun, with probably the best barrels in the world. They are laser corrected and the production quality is among the best in the world of line production weapons. If it is a trap model, it is good gun, with absolutely no snob value since only serious competition shooters have heard of it. I have used it extensively and has never had a malfunction even though an umpteen number of rounds having been fired. The whole competition shooting fraternity has moved to Perrazzis and some still use Berettas, If you want to do a trade in it depends depends upon which model your Beretta is?
Also bear in mind that trap guns always shoot a little high since one is always shooting at a going away target and are both full choke barrels.
Gary.

Re: miroku shotgun
We already know that it is Japanese made shotgun.Read the previous posts. The miroku is a Japanese shotgun
They are the best in the world in comparison to what? Can you back up your statement with some hard facts.Otherwise this is just an expression of personal views /prejudices /ignorance.with probably the best barrels in the world. Re: miroku shotgun
"They are the best in the world in comparison to what?"
Good question.
In engineering terms Miroku barrels are not as good as they used to be as they now use monobloc barrels instead of the chopper-lump barrels they used to employ - and the only reason for change is the cost of production. There`s nothing wrong with monobloc barrels as such.......and the great majority of O/Us now use them but best guns use chopper-lump barrels.
Mirokus ARE good guns.......but let`s not go over-the-top with excessive opinions of their quality.
