archery supplies?
hi all,
i always had the inclination for archery but due to non availability of time and a proper range had to to put it on a back burner.
i am now in possession of a indian spirit junior compound bow 25lb Peak Wt 13lb Holding Weights .
i received the bow without any arrows.
just checked the market the rates for a carbon fibre arrow from gsmith and arjuna archery are approx 500 rs/ piece.
i was told that if i go in for a bamboo arrows they would hardly last for few shots, aluminum arrows tend to bend, carbon fibres are the best
since iam a newbie with absolutely zero knowledge of the sports i would ask you guys.
what type of arrows should i use and from where should i source these arrows at the cheapest possible rates .
( presently ordered 3 Geologic ARROW CARBON 300(Size (Inches)=28) from http://www.sports365.in @ 340.47/ piece)
which site /store is the best for archery supplies.
thanks .
doctor

stikage arrows are mostly aluminium and bamboo...my suggestion will be to go in for aluminium...its cheaper and lasts...as long as you are shooting at proper targets, you dont have to worry about bending it...

Doctor, since you are in Mumbai check out Decathlon in Thane. I don't know anything about archery, except that you use a bow to shoot an arrow, hence will not be able to comment on quality, etc. at all.
Standard disclaimer: I am not financially or otherwise rewarded by Decathlon, just happen to be a very satisfied customer.

I too have good experience with Decathalon at Bangalore and felt they perform as true professionals.
Off topic.. Loved this quote from you essdee . Is the "Standard disclaimer" a requirement to talk/write about anything you feel good in the world?essdee1972 wrote: Standard disclaimer: I am not financially or otherwise rewarded by Decathlon, just happen to be a very satisfied customer.

Re: archery supplies?
Pradeep, I just realised I am recommending Decathlon in so many things. I might be sounding like a salesman, for all I know! Plus so many years of corporate life leads to a natural self-preservation instinct!!!
In fact, Bangalore Sarjapur Road was my first experience with Decathlon. I actually had a buy a backpack while I was there, just to carry the stuff I bought back to Mumbai. And I had gone just to "take a look"!!

I can appreciate the fact and perfectly understand this instinct is natural.. and we should go by the command of our intelligent and unexplainable sub-conscious mind... Thanks Comrade for responding.
Ending my off-line discussion here .
