Great review xl_target.
A 22 is so much fun to shoot. You can go all day long, you can shoot till your heart content .

Not less than 1.5 to 2 lakh depending on condition and accessories. Hope you have license for a semi auto rifle

Is it possible to find a Ruger 10/22 semi-automatic rifle .22 Long Rifle in India these days. If yes then how much it runs for.

Thank you for the detailed review and images xl_target; enjoyed it immensely, almost as much as shooting the rifle itself.
Baljit many thanks for sharing images of your SR-22

TC Bhai - my humble opinion - Guns in India are indeed made in heaven and are available to the very few who can afford them; cost, condition, make, model, bore all fall by the wayside; sad but true!
If you see somthing you like and 'can' buy it, well all that limits you is the depth and thickness of your wallet!
Again, sad but true! Anyway all these zeroes are very confusing to me....I have very few of them (after the decimal point - I mean) LOL!

Re: The Ruger 10/22- a Review (Pic. heavy)
I bought my first 10/22 in about 1968 or 69 (I was about 15 or 16), have fired no idea how many thousands of rounds through it, still my favorite gun. Paid $64.00USD including tax for it at Sears and Roebuck. Very accurate with iron sights. Don't think it has ever jammed. Got several of the Ruger 25 round mags, they work as good as the 10 round rotaries. Got a barrel designed for the .22LR subsonic 60 grain Aguila ammo, can't remember the twist, but it's different, intend to put that barrel on another 10/22 and try it out. The 60 grain hits like a hammer, slaughters coyotes, but not as accurate as I like out of a standard twist barrel.

Hi Vik
Many thanks for sharing your experience wth the Ruger 10/22 Rifle!
And also - 1969 (15/16 yrs of age) - that's a long time to have a rifle and opportunity to pass many, many rounds through the barrel of your favourite gun!!
I hear you about the sub-sonic ammo - it is just a lower phhhht....compared to the normal sharp but muted bang of a regular .22 - I tried it out with xl_target's baby!

Dada, after the inflation and slump in money market I have very few zeros left before the decimal pointckkalyan wrote:TC Bhai - my humble opinion - Guns in India are indeed made in heaven and are available to the very few who can afford them; cost, condition, make, model, bore all fall by the wayside; sad but true!

The Ruger 10/22, even if I can afford it, will always remain a dream for me because its a semi-auto rifle and I am a law abiding citizen
By the way, working on a great project at my workshop.... hope to surprise you, XL, Baljit and others in a month or so

I believe that is a 1:11 barrel.Vik wrote:I bought my first 10/22 in about 1968 or 69 (I was about 15 or 16), have fired no idea how many thousands of rounds through it, still my favorite gun. I tried the Aguila Super Sniper ammo and they don't stabilize in my standard 1:16 barrel. I was keyholing at 20 yards with them.
Looking forward to that, TC.TC wrote:By the way, working on a great project at my workshop.... hope to surprise you, XL, Baljit and others in a month or so
