My lil knife collection
Jst thought of sharing pics of 2 kukris and one English knife.
First pic of Kukri with wooden sheath and wooden handle, this approx 11inch long, made in Assam and Bhutan border.

Nepali Kukri, this has leather coated sheath, it has bone handle
[albumimgc]71[/albumimgc]
The end tip, which had brass tip was broken by my cousin.

Blade metal is not very high quality, needs lil restoration. I bought it blunt but sharpened it my self.
English Knife, this is one of most prized possesion, it was gifted to me by my grandfather, its almost 50 yr old. Look at the quality of the sheath, splly the stiching on the front.

sa_ali,
Yes, that is what I was asking. Is there a big collectables market for the older knives in India? How can one tell a kukuri that was made 15 years ago from one that was made 100?

I am not sure of big mrkt or not, but yes there are people who are interested in these. U will find plenty of them here .
About telling the age, me novice on that . I have always bought what i like irrelevant of the history, but yes usually the metal and finish of the sheath hav been some what much superior and better compared to today times.
