Custom Checkering and modification on Stock.
Hai Guys,
I dont know wheather this is the right place to post this work, I was very much impressed by the stock on the Briha ji air rifle "samurai"
I tried to do a customizing work on my IHP Air rifle stock, Before that as a trial I tried it on a ISW Stock.
First I tried to thin the grip area and added a adjustable cheek piece on the stock. Pics are added Below.
Now the main part: Checkering comes into play.
I searched a lot of shop for getting a checkering tool, but all my efforts were in vain. So decided to do a checkering pattern by myself.
My plan was a childish plan to do this job but at last gave me some results.
I used two Flat Screw Drivers (A very thin one and A bit Bigger one) ,to make the lines and then used a small hacksaw Blade to clear the spacing between the lines.
And the Pics are added below. Please share your views on my work.

Sathya.sniper...I am really impressed It is a pretty tough technique to master and require specialized tools to do the job...The lines have come out pretty nicely..eagerly waiting for the final result (post polishing/finishing etc). All the best & keep up the good work

Hi Sathya,
Excellent DIY attempt....
Very professional looking job of checkering - Now polishing will enhance the look & feel of the stock.
Frankly you have achieved something enviable just by using "A couple of screwdrivers & a hacksaw blade" - while the world relies on sophisticated checkering tools
Your basic engineering funda is visible by the pencil sketches made on the stock prior to attempting the job
Just goes to prove that imagination, innovation & application and ofcourse hardwork / dedication are the keys to producing pathbreaking results.
Well done - Congrats
Briha
