The only reason I consider it old is because it is an older model. BRNO stopped making this model in the 1980's I think. The newer comparative models are the model 527, 550 etc. from CZ. I have a couple of the newer models from CZ too but the older guns have a charm of its own, may be its just me.

You are absolutely right. Old Brnos have their own charm and feel, something the newer ones somehow lack. In all the old shooting clubs we have the Brno 22s are the most widely used rifles after the now discarded BSA Martini actions. I have literally grown up firing the old Brnos and I still fire one particular rifle at my club with which I started when I enrolled at the age of 9 or 10 as a junior member. 35 years on and its still shoots like a ace, despite all the manhandling. The club has bought a few new models over the years, replacing some old ones. But the old Brnos beat their new siblings in every department.
If the saying old is gold still stands true for some people then I guess the Brno is a living example.

Beautiful! Just the right calibre too. Like the dings in the stock........just shows its come a long way after being made, yet looked after.

Here's CZ Brno my Dad has had since 1958, purchased new.
