Rust Removal
I thought some here may find this interesting. The recipe is simply white vinegar and salt. This person used 1 cup salt to 1 gallon vinegar but apparently you get the same result with as little as a tablespoon of salt per gallon. I wouldn't soak a gun in it but plenty of other things to clean.

I wonder just how many years it is that I`ve known that acid will remove rust ?

Definitely not! Remember the blue finish on guns is also a version of rust, so anything that chemically removes rust will also remove bluing.BowMan wrote:I'm not sure if its safe for guns tough
