Request Info in USA
Dear Friends,
I am visiting friends in US next month.
Landing in NY and leaving from SFO. I have about six days to myself while I travel from Detroit to SFO.
Can anyone suggest 4-5 days hunting shooting related activities/ranges/organizers and places where I can stop over en route to SFO.
If you can kindly help with this info I can make my flight and hotel bookings ASAP.
Thanks in advance.
Ice
PS: Please also mention any precautions/advice as I would be a SOLO participant.

You won't find many hunting related activities in the summer. Most US hunting seasons start in the fall and are over by February.
What you will have to do is see where you are stopping and Google "game farms" or "firing range" in that town or area.
Game farms will allow you to shoot some species of bird but will be relatively expensive if you have to rent your gun/ammo as well as time with a guide and dog. There will also be a per bird charge. It can add up.
If you go to a range, you can usually rent a gun (usually a handgun) for an hour and buy a box of ammo for a lot less.
Also keep in mind that, at present, Detroit is the armpit of the US and a decrepit, smelly, crime-ridden one at that.

Send Conty1 a PM, he lives in the Chicago area and may have some suggestions for you.

Kind of need to follow the bed and the bread.
Places have familia.
I'm not going to Chicago but thnx. I have found some ranges in Vegas where I can shell out 200 and punch some paper.
Looking for cheaper options around SFO now.
Thnx for pitching in. Other stuff I want to do is Tandem Diving & Aerobatics. Any suggestions?

Sky diving
http://www.skydivehollister.com/
This is in hollister, just south of the bay area. I did a tandem dive 2 years ago. Good people to dive with.
If you do head down further south towards Los Angeles, give me a shout

Aloha,
I can recommend Discount Firearms in Las Vegas.
Time I went, it was Less crowded than The Gun Store.
Hardly any tourists with lots of Parking.
A little out of the way if you're on the Strip.
If you're renting a car, pay the extra for the GPS.
First time I ever used one, no problems at all.

Aerobatics as in airplanes? Send me a PM of the dates of your trip and your route and I'll see if I know anyone to put you in contact with.icemanV wrote:
