Its a jezail.
A few of these are around in western punjab, rajasthan and haryana.

Thanks ab per wiki these originated from NWFP/Afghanistan..could be it was a momento brought back from afghan wars...interesting

Yes sir.
This gent is holding the gun wrong imho. The butt was supposed to be tucked in the crevice between the arm and the chest and no cheek weld was required.
Atleast thats what i read right now.

Yups its a Afgan Jezil....!!!!

However, was commonly used in parts of Northwestern India...!!

Its a Afgan Jezil, Used by Pastun Forces in way back 18th Century. This was the Main Rifle/Gun of Afgans in many of their batteles in 18th Century.
