Jim Shockey is one of the great hunter in the would and well known in hunting community, who hunt all over the would.This years Shot Show in Las Vegas, Crosman Introduces a new air rifles with Jim Shockey Signature Series break barrel air rifles.

I came across this article and i like to shear with all the air gun lover members and i hope they enjoy this new toy by Crosman.



ROCHESTER, New York, (January 15, 2013) –Crosman Corporation, long known for creating innovative, high quality products for the shooting sports, has introduced two air rifles to the Benjamin® line. The Benjamin Legacy™ Jim Shockey Signature Series break barrels are powered by patented Nitro Piston® technology and are available in .22 and .177 calibers. The new Benjamin Legacy airguns are the first to incorporate a Jim Shockey inspired design.

According to Crosman President and CEO, Phil Dolci, the Benjamin Legacy Jim Shockey Signature Series break barrel air rifles feature, “an entirely new design motivated by the enthusiasm Jim Shockey brings to hunting with airguns. What makes Jim a special part of our team is that he shares his passion for airgun hunting with everyone. Jim’s expertise and unique perspective as one of the world’s foremost hunting authorities played a great role in bringing this new air rifle to market,” he said.

Shockey agrees. “Be ready to create new memories with these Benjamin Legacy break barrel air rifles. They pack a powerhouse of fun and a broad range of features for small game hunting, target shooting, or simply rekindling the adventures of your youth. It’s the next great air rifle to add to your collection,” he said.

The new Benjamin Legacy Jim Shockey series rifles feature an attractive, over-molded barrel with ‘soft-touch’ inserts and an adjustable comb, designed to provide firm control during the shot cycle. The synthetic, ambidextrous stock is lightweight, while the barrel features an integrated sound suppression system that enhances the 70% sound reduction already provided by its patented Nitro Piston technology. The Benjamin Legacy delivers smooth cocking effort, reduced vibration and a rifled steel barrel for increased accuracy. The gun is equipped with an adjustable, two-stage trigger, Picatinny mounting rail, sling mounts and a stylish recoil pad with a customized Jim Shockey medallion. In addition, the gun comes equipped with a precision CenterPoint 3-9x40mm riflescope. The scope features an adjustable objective, range estimating reticle and target adjustable windage and elevation turrets for pinpoint accuracy.

Says Shockey, “With 21 foot pounds of energy (fpe) and velocities of up to 950 fps, my Benjamin Legacy Series .22 caliber is great for hunting small game like rabbits, medium-sized varmints such as raccoons, and even predators like bobcats and fox. I’m serious, that’s no guff.”

The Benjamin Legacy Jim Shockey Signature Series Air Rifles, have an MSRP of $349.99 and will be available at retail in Spring, 2013.

This rifle does indeed look like a desirable toy and this Nitro-piston thing is innovative. But I would have thought that the gas chamber will inevitably leak over time and presumably will require some servicing. If imported to India that would be a disability.

The Nitro Piston is supposed to be a sealed cartridge. It's not supposed to leak but you know how that goes..... :)
The advantage of the Nitro Piston is that you will get the same velocity even if it is extremely cold outside.
You can also leave the gun cocked without any negative effects.

Thanks Baljit. That's a desirable rifle but I haven't noticed any excitement on the crosman forum. Apparently the Nitro pistons don't have a nice trigger...just hearsay from my part. But yeah, if I could lay my hands on one it would be nice.
