One often wonders about how to improve one's marksmanship with a rifle. Before the latest barrage of techniques of rifle wizardry that baffles one these days, these battle tested basics were firmly established through the mother of all wars, the World War-II. If you are interested in learning about improving your rifleman skills, take time and watch these videos.
These are Excellent videos for those who would like to know more about rifle shooting. They are great for both the beginner and the expert who needs a refresher. The series focuses on the M1 garand, but the techniques can be applied to any rifle. part one covers sling usage and shooting positions. Part 2 covers sight adjustments and also has one of the BEST explanations of windage adjustments EVER. The film was made in 1942/43 for the war department and is now in the public domain, so it can be copied and recopied at will.
Hope you find them useful.
Best-
Vikram

Just "discovered" this today
Great video, Vikram, and something a lot of IFG members can learn from.
I am struck with the friendliness and honesty between instructor and men.
This may be publicity at that time, but any army that is able to train its men thus will be a deadly force to go against.

Forgive my tech challenged self - Can these be downloaded onto an iPad?
It's good to watch these repeatedly and streaming every time is a pain.

I think you should be able to. I do not see a reason why not.

Thanks Vikram. Very informative and good learning. Always pays to start with the basics and then build upon it.
