We are discussing edge retention and ease of sharpening and not the chopping ability of various knives.I mentioned chopping dry wood as it is harder than green wood and so blunts the edge faster.

Speed reading ?????
All rightee. Cannot compare Premium steels like CPM S30V to leaf spring steel. 5160 Carbon Steel or leaf spring has a carbon content of .5 to .6 % compared to 1.45 of S30V. S30V is a b**ch to sharpen but the edge retention is much superior. 5160 is relatively easy to sharpen i.e the hones cut the steel much faster but the edge retention would not be as good as S30V. A Maruti Zen gets you from Point A to Point B so does an Audi A8. And both edge retention and ease of sharpening are not mutually exclusive. Better the edge retention harden it is to sharpen the damn thing. Harder in the sense it will take more time as the hones do not cut the tool steel easily.

Kaise Sirjee. nahi samjha.mutually exclusive means inedependent qualities right. YOU people speak Oxford english. Im trying to say both qualities are inversely proportional to each other. How am I contradicting myself.
