Post by kanwar76 » Sat Apr 20, 2013 4:46 pm

Hi All,

One of my dear friends need to ship his airguns from Bangalore to Doon. What is the best way to do it? Does all airlines charge "Handling fee" to carry airguns now days?

Please help

Thanks Inder!

Hello KC,
Gati does not ship airguns.

They do for aimco.Perhaps you can ask them how they accept air guns to ship?
I would rather hit my target gently than miss hard.

:agree: that's right, i just got my M300 from Aimco by Gati, and they're quite efficient too, delivered on a Sunday, when all the other players play, Gati works all day.

The companies won't ship via air. As per my experience, all the companies ship through ground. I recently bought a used fx from a friend in Delhi, and he shipped it through FedEx.

That explains why it took an entire week for the consignment to be delivered to Hyderabad (from Kol) even though Aimco had dispatched the Gun immediately after my payment.

I talked to DHL here in Noida and few weeks ago and they said that can ship air guns across the country.
I believe in second chances… it’s called reloading

I carried a friend's .177 HW77 this time with me to Bangalore, via Air India. Upon declaring it at the airport, they asked if it was .177, so I told them it was and showed them the calibre marked on the barrel. Then asked them what difference it made what calibre it was? They said that they (Air India) DOES NOT charge special handling fees on .177 cal Airguns, but charges for all other calibres! I also had to show them my rifle club membership card. Hence:

If traveling by air domestically (on Air India) with a .177 cal airgun, keep your membership card handy and you will not have to pay any special handling fees! :D

Cheers!
