The Aimco M300 / MOD 300 Under-Lever Review

Gentlemen,
I need some urgent advice please.
Going to order an AR today from AIMCO
Budget is 6K.

Decided upon M300 or IHP 5.5

Contacted Mr. Joy.
No news on stocks of IHP 4.5.
and that Barrel of M300 is rifled

So please gentlemen advice a humble novice which one to go for.

But looks of M300 takes me away... but so does the reliability of IHP.
Already own Pegasus, wanted to add another AR to my collection

After reading , supershaji's review, I am very much confused,

Which one to go for M300/IHP 5.5 please advice me and best pellet that suits it

btw, what did I say that confused yo, yo?

My logic for getting the M300 was, apart from it's awesome looks and all, that I could own another kind of Airgun with -
1. a shiny wooden stock, and
2. to own an AR w/ a different kind of action, an under lever in this case... since I too own an Orion and owned a Pegasus too

I'm probably going to order myself a Diana 48 side-lever in .177 next.

so again, what did I say that confused yo, yo? I could help put your concerns to rest since I have just recently acquired the M300 beauty!

If that question was for me, I used to own a Pegasus and it truly shot like a dream! Currently I own an awesome SX100 Orion, this beautiful M300, an old Kangaroo .22 Air Pistol, and an absolutely bogus fully falthu He-Man Mark 3 pistol (got greedy while ordering the M300)

I am confused now that IHP performs better.. and M300 has looks and feel..Take it for granted that I and Moin fell for M300 (looks and feel)
Now I am ordering AR from AIMCO today itself. I am in a dilemma whether it is IHp 5.5 or M300. I want to have an .22, As i already have one .177 Pegasus. All members recommend IHP.

I have some questions for u If u dont mind

1) Quality of wooden stock
2) Cocking effort
3) Trigger pressure
4) Workmanship of AR

And a humble request too
Soap cake test :- place a bathing soap bar at 10m distance and shoot at it. we can observe the entry and exit behavior or pellet and aswell as IF pellet are being hit sideways and hence creating out of shape holes, and kindly please upload more pics of M300 from all angles, aswell as soap cake test.

When did I get rid of Pegasus I still have Pegasus-the-almighty

Truly fits like a glove and shoots like a dream Highly accurate ( In Indian standards of course ). Now all issues that were present have been resolved and Precihole sports has an awesome customer care Best bet in .177 calibre will be IHP .177 (difficult to get as always out of stock ) or Pegasus with manual/auto safety

didn't "get rid" rid of the Pegasus, just struck to me a little after I got it that if I was going to get more air guns, I'd have to import, and I gather from the forum that only the .177s are easy to get in and duty free too, so thought I'd keep the Orion, and "got rid" of the Pegasus :p

Most likely finalising on a Diana 48 or some multi pump repeater (if there is one out there) soon.

Thanks for re-confirming the M300 rifling issue, funny why Joy didn't reply my email query on the same :p

Quality of wooden stock is good, I like it. I really haven't got anything else to compare it to.

Under lever cocking is very easy.

Trigger is direct pull, and again, comparable to IHP, but not as good as the two stage Precihole SX100s'

Will whack a soap bar (you have any preferences on fragrance?) and do the test for you. Also shall post more all angle pics up for you in the morn!

Btw, I thought that this forum's verdict for best AR seems to be in favour of the Precihole SX100s, correct me if I am wrong.

It is found that foresight is a little
tilted towards right.You can probably fix it by unscrewing the top nut and then realigning it.
Butt is always outstanding in Aimco products.
