Daughter checking out some scopes...

...at a gun show in San Francisco. She also handled a few handguns, and shotguns were too heavy. The earlier you teach safety, the better in my opinion. She can handle blades fairly well and also has a spyderco delica trainer. She is 6.

Not only safety, choombak, but there is also the discipline of self-control that is also a part of learning guns. Generally, the kids I've been with realize that they are doing something that they need to be safe with, and then you can move on to the whole motor skills thing. When they see they can improve, kids often like that and will devote attention to it. Safety, in my opinion, is just a part of the whole self-control issue that can be taught through shooting. That is a very valuable lesson to learn when young.

Didn't know you had a kid....good that she will be well trained by you.
I would rather hit my target gently than miss hard.

Hi choombak,
> A 'Chip of the Old Block'??? :D
> Couldn't agree with you MORE - The earlier you teach them Safety / Shoot / Handle Blades the wiser, confident & more responsible they become when they grow up!

Choombakji, lovely to see your daughter showing an interest in shooting sports. Girls are among the best shooters. But may I suggest that you remove her photograph from the internet. Photos with identities can be misused and tend to survive on the internet for decades.
