Addition of weapon on License
Hello,
I possess an Arms License from Delhi and have a NPB Pistol endorsed on it. I was planning on seeking addition of the following (one at a time)
1. NPB Pistol (thus bringing my total to two pistols)
2. DBBL Shotgun (Once I can get the second pistol endorsed on my license)
3. .22 Rifle (Once my DSRA membership comes through)
I've filled out the application for the additional pistol, but can't think of a good 'justification' for this. Anyone care to suggest a good reason for this addition? (I've read the Allahabad HC ruling posted by goodboy and know that technically I don't need to specify a reason for this.)
Thanks

Re: Addition of weapon on License
just a query so far as my knowledge goes one can endorse 3 weapons in one licence and not four..but again i am not cent% sure on this, and so far as your reason goes you can give as trap shooting for your 12 bore and .22 for rifle shooting

Thanks for your response. The Shotgun and Rifle are easy enough to explain. What I'm struggling to explain is the addition of the second pistol.gladiatorgarg wrote:just a query so far as my knowledge goes one can endorse 3 weapons in one licence and not four..but again i am not cent% sure on this, and so far as your reason goes you can give as trap shooting for your 12 bore and .22 for rifle shooting

You can have three weapons.A fourth .22 if you meet certain requirements.

Apply second pistol for sports if you are a rifle club member .If you took the first one in sports already tell them you are into rapid fire so .22lr pistol is must, if you got .22lr now then say that you are going to centre fire .32cal competition. If you are planning to take same cal just say its a back up pistol for sports shooting. If you are in SD attach that court judgement with addition of weapon application.

Re: Addition of weapon on License
If you got your pistol in SD now you can add sports into the license. Both sports and SD in one license. Then add another pistol also for sports. For this rifle club membership is mandatory. If you can attach a competition certificate in pistol shooting atleast in district level it will give you an edge.

I think I will attach the court judgement. That seems to be the safest bet.renjith747 wrote:Apply second pistol for sports if you are a rifle club member .If you took the first one in sports already tell them you are into rapid fire so .22lr pistol is must, if you got .22lr now then say that you are going to centre fire .32cal competition. If you are planning to take same cal just say its a back up pistol for sports shooting. If you are in SD attach that court judgement with addition of weapon application.

sports is the easiest way and it is also easy to increase ammo quota. In SD you will be limited to 50 nos ammo.

Re: Addition of weapon on License
I agree, but my DSRA membership application has been pending for 4 months and there is no clear date when it will be approved. I'm going to apply for a NRAI membership, that too will take a few months to clear.renjith747 wrote:sports is the easiest way and it is also easy to increase ammo quota. In SD you will be limited to 50 nos ammo.

Allahabad High Court has no jurisdiction in Delhi. At the most Allahabad High Court judgment may have some convincing value, provided the LA is open minded and amenable to reasoning.kandarp wrote:I think I will attach the court judgement. That seems to be the safest bet.

Re: Addition of weapon on License
I'm submitting my application with the following reason.
I can always appeal the rejection...14. That I require addition of NPB Pistol because the Arms Act 1959 entitles an Arms License holder to possess upto three weapons at a time and I currently only have one weapon endorsed on my license. Furthermore, the Arms Act 1959, or any subsequent notification issued under Section 44 of the Arms Act 1959, do not restrict the type of weapons that can be possessed by a licensee.
