NZ has no indigenous species of animals. Introduced species include the following
Red Deer
Sika Deer
Rusa Deer
Fallow deer
Sambhar Deer
Himalayan Thar
Chamois
Wallaby
Wapiti
Captain Cook boars
Wild bulls
Wild goat
Rabbits
hares
All of the above except the Sambhar are fair game. Sambhar are fair game in season on ballot. Hunting is available all year round and there are no bag limits on game found on public land.
