Lubricating and cleaning oil for Handguns.

Post by djneog » Tue Apr 02, 2013 6:32 am

R/Members,
Want to know from the fellow members the name and brand of a good cleaning and lubricating oil for my hand gun and air rifles. Few years back one gun shop owner told me that "2T Scooter Engine oil" is a better option for lubricating the hand guns. I don't know whether it is better for the guns or not. Need comments from the learned forum members.
Regards.

In India, you have Ballistol available.
That is a pretty good product and you can't go wrong using it on your guns.

I use WD 40 only for cleaning the barrel after firing and wipe it clean. Then use Ballistol for overall lubrication.
Both are available in India. Engine oil should be left to engines.
