Guy’s let me apologize first for the delay; I am so busy in last few days so here is the Range Report for all of you guy's.

I get off from the work at 7:00AM and I already had a plan for the range early in the morning, because early in the morning the range is not that busy, so I can take my time to zeroing the scope.

It’s beautiful day and temp +4 C with sunny day, wind NS 1.7KMH. When I arrived there I notice that, there is few guy’s in the range but they are busy in the handgun bay and no one in the 50 yards rifle bay.

I decide that first I start at 50 yards then work all the way to 200 yards.


In next picture you can see my first five shots at 50 yards, but last two shots top of each other. My main object is zero my scope at 50 yards then shifts myself to 100 and 200 yards.

One more thing I like to share with all of you guys is, when I am zeroing my scope at 50 yards, I clean the barrel after every shot I fired, and also I did the same thing at 100 yards, because this is the proper way to go with new barrel.
After I zero my scope at 100 yards, I clean the barrel again. After I clean the barrel I take five more shots at 100 yards. As you can see the grouping I have at 100 yards.



After getting this grouping at 100 yards, I decide that I should shift myself to 200 yards to see how I am doing at 200 yards.

Here again I clean the barrel first before I fired any shot at 200 yards, after I zeroing my scope at 200 yards, first I clean the barrel before I fired more shots.

In next picture you can see I have four different grouping at 200 yards. The three five shot grouping is just over half inch at 200 yards but I had a one five shot group is under half inch at 200 yards.




My load info.
I don’t work really hard for this load because my old Remington 700 SPS also had a 1 in 12 twist and I know exactly what 1 in 12 twist likes is.
Only I make a small change in OAL.
The Max.OAL for .223Rem. is 2.260” and my old Remington 700 likes 2.250” OAL, but this toy likes a 2.257” OAL and the results you guys can see on the target.

When I arrived home from the range, I notice that I have mail in my mail box. Quickly I check my mail box and I found that extended bolt knob I order few days back is here.

After I clean my toy I decided that I am going to mount the extended bolt knob before I put my toy in the safe.

In next few pictures you can see how the bolt looks like with the new bolt knob. This is the small change I made with the bolt, but I’ll worth it.

With the new extended bolt knob, it is very easy to open and close the action without hitting the scope.

Hi Baljit,

Many thanks for the range report, detailed information and clear images. How well I remember those three ranges the 50, 100 and 200 yards at your Club; brought back fun 'Jangal Mein Mangal' memories!

Super grouping there and great that you now have the dosage of charge for the new rifle down pat! Question, what happened to the first shot on the 5-shot group at 50 yards?

The grip on the Extended Bolt Knob seems really large in the picture (since it is extended and out of the way, the knob can be larger for better purchase), I guess it gives you a much quicker, easier, better grip while cycling. The finish of the stock and whole final set up of the rifle, looks great!! ENJOY!

CK....... First shot at 50 yards is the first shot i took it after the bore site done.Extended bolt knob is not that big as looks like, you know i have a large hand so i need bigger bolt knob so i can have a quicker, easier, better grip while cycling the bolt.

TC...... yes it is .453" at 200 yards but very soon all of you guy's can see 1000 yards shooting with my 300 WIN. MAG. report here....

I have seen that beast you love to call TOY ..
Its been a while since I am following your posts and seeing your targets. I am sure your could teach our army snipers a thing or two... It is apparent from the pictures of you tuning and setting up rifles and (what caught my attention) describing what you are doing so clearly in so few words. To those who have spent some serious time with firearms it should be apparent that you know your business.
