Djneog - I had bought mine in feb 2013 and was facing the same issue with 2 piece mounts, for springers a single piece mount is recommended due to the recoil. I use hawke single piece mounts and the scope has since been rock solid

I don't have a close up pic, but you can see the mount in the attached pic. This was bought from magnum guns in Mumbai
