I.D. this knife please
Hello,
Can anyone here please ID this survival knife please?
The info I have is that it's probably Korean made, and that its used in the Indian military forces (or did they say paramilitary?).
I have no more information on this knife apart from the picture attached and what vague info I mentioned.
Over to the experts.

Hi Supershaji; This looks like one of those Chinese Junk blades available in Heera Panna and Musafirkhana. Does not look like a blade from a reputed manufacturer. ive seen many similar ones with these shiny pommels mouleded handles and cheap sheaths in black and Camo.

Re: I.D. this knife please
No, It does not appear to be, reasons as listed below.supershaji wrote:Thanks for popping my bubble fellas! :p lol!
Btw, can you please check if this one's a the real Mc-coy:
1) The black Benchmade Box is for the Gold Class models (read as super expensive) and the Balisongs are in the Gold Class with a street price in US of more than USD 200. Add shipping and customs duty and you can expect to pay an arm and a leg for the knife. Have you brought this for more than 15,000/- INR landed price.
2) The skeletonised handles are in the Benchmade Morpho series Balisongs but they are in G10 plastic with andodised titanium inserts. In the pic the handles appear to be made of metal and the titanium inserts are missing.
3) None of the BM balisongs have a fuller or a groove as it is commonly called on the blade. This one has so it is most probably a chinese copy.
You have posted one pic, if you can post more will give additional clues.
Regards
Moin.

Thanks for the clarification & keenly obvervated notes Sensai Moin!
I didn't expect them to be original, but one never knows when he could get lucky by chance, eh? :p
I got these tracked down and bought from some shop in Heera Panna Mall called Touch, the dude apparently quoted something like 2k and eventually bargained down to 500 or 800, which again, would be considered a price too high for duplicates, but the point is, I wanted to get a balisong, and I did,
Will inevitably migrate to acquiring the originals of whatever catches my fancy, God Willing.
Here are more pictures as requested of the "benchmark" balisong / butterfly doppelganger:

yep that one is a chinese the grip has on finger point polished plastic which would never be made in such a way by any good manufacturer.
The balisong is also a fake by a single look on the nuts fixing it.
BTW Can anyone of you mumbaikars get me the cheap Rs 20 - 30 balisong are sold there.

BTW not all available at Touch is bad. I once saw a Spyderco Military for INR 9000/- which is a decent price. He always maintains a stock of some original blades. Just ask him to pull out the stash from the drawer where the owner sits at the entrance. He will quote some obsecene prices, you should know what to look for an how to negotiate....

Hyderabad ki pichli kahaaniyou ke uppar kitaab jab Wali-Miya Dalrymple saheb likhingay, tho Hyderabadi tho padingaaich na!
Well at least the paperback is an original. sigh!
I had gotten two balisongs (pls refer to the balisong thread) and one just came apart yesterday while I was posing my flicks, or flicking my poses...
However, I asked a soon visiting American cousin of mine to being along a balisong trainer and he refused, guess nobody wants to take any chances with all the ridiculous profiling going on these days. The postage rates are really hurtful man!
Anyway, after taking an emotional beating and humiliation caused by these fakes, your friend awaits the arrival of his Cold Steel Bushman (who is ironically hairless) Bowie today from Oliveplanet.in.
Plan on getting it a toupee though.
