why not the IHP National 35 in .177 calibre? it seems to be in favour here.

Unfortunately I do not have your number. You can mail me your number at [email protected].
The pistol is working fine and has a new stock. It is good for plinking
but do not expect match level accuracy. Other that practicing at range
I have shot stray dogs at night who disturb my sleep

.177 cal gives more accuracy in long range than .22
.177 is good for target pratice
.22 is good for plinking

In my understanding, the .22 is only suggested over the .177 in case one wants to hunt, for a humane kill for "larger game" (animals).
Go for the .177, that's my suggestion. Its got a wider range of ammo available, it's ammo is cheaper, its calibre is acceptable at all shooting ranges in India (while the .22 calibre air guns are NOT permitted), advantages to name a few.

Re: IHP "National" air rifles & pistols
Hi
Finally......doing that was to be done long back, tuning of IHP 35 (5.5). Thankfully Harshvardhan got the IHP kit from TTI and as he was not using the kit, I was lucky enough to get hold of it . So I strip open the IHP yesterday and degreased it.
Today as planned moved to Harsha’s place at 10am in the morning. Had a view of the TTI merchandise and was excited to see the quality of the product. The spring, the guide, tophat, washer everything was nicely machined and at first look seemed better than IHP internals. Started the work by polishing the piston, trigger with 120, 220 and then 320 sand paper for fine finish. Removed the remaining scouring materials and then dried. After 30 mins or so started the reassembling work, the most difficult part was putting the washer on the piston. When we were struggling with the washer some expert advice was taken from Basu Da as well. And after all the hard work the washer was set in its place.
Then the piston, washer (walls), trigger were treated with moly and the spring with lube and fitted in the chamber. Then some time for chrony to assess the hard work. The reading was showing at around 545. It is understandable that the spring will take some shots to break in, but the most satisfying factors are the trigger pressure and vibration. The trigger pressure was similar to Harsha’s IHP and the vibration was negligible, couldn’t have asked for more . So after 4 hrs of hard work the desired result is achieved. My sincere thanks to Harsha for the kit and for his time & effort, I owe you one brother. So finally I got chance to say to my old IHP experience “hasta la vista baby”

WE the air gun lovers are a rare breed in India...
Only we are interested in our talks and fascination regarding these fascinating boys Toys.....others will laugh at us..[like my MOM and Dad]
We should always help each other with full effort and share our experience and knowledge to make this rifles awesome..
Any problem i am always here anytime...just call me...
even i feel great to do this...do not think I helped you...
I just enjoyed the session....
Measure your trigger pressure it will be 1.5 to 1.8 kg...for any further reduction some more fine work is necessary...

Great work Molindu
Let the AR settle down a bit - it'll get even smoother & the velocity may settle around 560 / 570 which is ideal for smooth & accurate shooting.
Best wishes

Re: IHP "National" air rifles & pistols
Molindu,
Next time you take pictures of your AR "PLEASE use a plain Bed Sheet for the background.
The old news papers you've used distracts attention & gives less importance to the AR & its parts which are the main objects you want to display.
To me it appears very insulting to the AR = looks as if they have been dumped into a waste paper basket
No offense meant...... Just reflecting my regard, respect & attachment to weapons / blades etc.

Re: IHP "National" air rifles & pistols
Brihaji...... none taken. I treat my IHP as my baby, but I was not prepared to take any pics during stripping it off, but suddenly it hit me to put the pics for showing the difference in quality of the internals. So asked my sis to take the pics, as she was not interested in the process so i bribed her to take the pics atleast from cell phone . i thought the same in Harsha's place but was too involved with the tuning part and it completely skipped off. From next time onwards I will make it sure to follow your instruction.brihacharan wrote:To me it appears very insulting to the AR = looks as if they have been dumped into a waste paper basket

Mouindu - you can still photoshop it and create a blue background, leaving only the gun parts visible
