Using Spring air rifle for Competition
I want to go for competition shooting and have a .177 rifle, it is a springer. but I am not sure if actually I am made for target shooting or not and to know it is by trying. So, could you guys help me if it is advisable to train for competition shooting by using a springer. All good target competition pcp airrifles cost big bucks. So is it ok to start with a springer?

There is nothing wrong in training with a 'springer'. PCPs are forgiving and can let bad habits creep in, if not checked at the start. The springer, on the other hand, will punish you for not using correct form. It's the better training tool.
If you decide to go the comp route but cannot afford a PCP, there are recoilless spring-piston air-rifles such as the FWB 300S/SU that will give you stellar service.
Depending on the comp, there may be a seperate event for recoiling spring-piston air-rifles.

Welcome to IFG... dont worry ....you are amongst the vast majority of us whose tastes for airguns/PCP's outweigh our pockets Don't loose too much sleep...continue with the springer & practice with dedication as you would do with a PCP & also in the meantime learn the other rudiments of shooting etc.
I suggest you be a little patient & you'll find in time you will be shooting with a PCP of your choice.
Good luck

I just saw Benjamin discovery online. How is it for competitions? Its review says good for pest control...has good power but not many talk about its accuracy in competition conditions
