Big Bore Competition- More info?

Post by AgentDoubleS » Sat Mar 02, 2013 12:38 pm

Just saw a video on youtube on a big bore competition in India. Any idea of where this is held?

interestingly participants are shooting from a rest in prone.

Safarigent saheb,

A brief description of the event would be interesting. Something about the competitors, their weapons and calibres, results etc. I hope you did well in the competition.

Regards.

Prashant, I'm an open sight fan.. so any place that will give ammo and safe place to go bang, I'm happy to be there! :D
I'm urging to fire the rifle. The drool all over might begin to rust it. The GVMs got cancelled for some reason, I'm secretly glad cos I wasn't prepared to make it to them.

Safarigent, how do we even come to know about such events! Or did I miss some obvious post/info somewhere. Would have loved to attend it even if with a borrowed rifle.

2nd- So I'm guessing this is a recently started event. I doubt it's run by NRAI as I don't recall seeing it listed anywhere. Put the aircraft on auto for a moment and fill us on the details!

A friend was going and invited me along as well.
Ammo had to be sourced personally.
Events were:
300 m prone scope.
200m prone scope/peep
100m prone open sights.
No fouling shots etc. get ready, fire 10 shots, thats it.
Great fun. great venue.
Fired a blaser r8 .30-06 calibre from 300 ms.
Shot like crap.
Wont tell you the scores.
:)

Hi Safarigent,

Scope you mean telescopic sights? Or is that the spotting scope?
As far as I recall the GVM is peep sights 300m.
Please to enlighten whether 200m and 100m are GVM events?

Regards,

Dev

Telescopic sights.
This was not a competition as per nrai matchbook, just one to get together and have fun.
