The Air Force Survival knife doesnt look beat up at all. It looks like a well used tool and it seems extremely versatile. Love the blade shape. Reminds me of a Boning Knife....and seems very capable of skinning, filleting too. I get very edgy..pun intended .. around folding knives that dont lock well. Maybe its time to get a new folding hunter.
And I have never field dressed any game, so my experience is non-existent in that area. Attribute it to the law of the land. All my experience of dressing comes from my work in the kitchen butchery and Garde Manger. And in the Butchery, we used some outstanding boning knives and cleavers. Some of the chaps have amazing skill and precision. Though I dont think I can don the apron again, I know the joy of making white paper packages filled with good cuts for customers

Re: The 20 best knives ever made
I had seen this article earlier, very subjective, many of the blades are tactical blades, very little use but good to own.
There are many unsung but beautiful blades out there, many names emerge in subsequent posts. I love the feel of a good WWII Sheffield high carbon steel, (Joseph Rodgers?) or a great solingen. I still have a lovely Sheffield hunting knife that can cut a 6"nail. I inherited from an uncle who fought in WWII and alas in my younger days abused it, hence it is shy of a cm off the tip, I have reground it though.
A great read all the same.

It is better to die on one's feet than live on one's knees.
