unless you fight for your rights you will mostly end up by 25/50 quota based on the unconstitutional rule of home ministry.Babus hold tight to that circular and consider as an encyclopedia rather than arms act.If you applied for sports you can increase your quota without much hassle.

Try sport quota, join a shooting range and get affiliated to a club. Take part in a few center fire pistol matches and then apply for an increase in ammo for competitions. Don't think the self defense plea will be humoured.

If you take a membership in a rifle club and participate in competition as dev mentioned above am sure you can add sports in your license.I personally know one who have both self defense and sports in license.If your license is added for sporting purpose you can easily increase your ammo quota.Otherwise it will be very hard to convince the people in licensing dept.It's your call ,you can choose an easy way or fight matter sensibly by law.Best of luck.
