Re: Tips on Pistol Shooting
hi,
The gold medallist shot atleast 17 tens in the last 20 shots. That's really awesome.
Anyways, I am now seriously doing box drills after a not so good practice match at my club in which I scored 344 last two weeks ago. Hope to improve this weekend.
Regards

What are the reasons for not being happy with your match ?major wrote: Anyways, I am now seriously doing box drills after a not so good practice match at my club in which I scored 344 last two weeks ago.
Have you written these down in a diary?
What element are you doing BDs on?

Re: Tips on Pistol Shooting
Being pretty "inertial", aka lazy. Not started on the prax yet. The trigger shoe cracked - so sawed off some portion of my Pegasus trigger and attached to the FWB AP. (Will buy a replacement from PH when I visit it the next time.) Good approximation - different feel. Yet to try it out at the range. Got a rubber liner - the one that covers the scooter panel. Will cut out a portion and try sticking to the grip - that should feel OK and also act as buffer; so I need not bother about another costly (Rs. 12K) grip. Haven't addressed the leakage issue accurately yet. Tried pushing the seal back in with a pointed screwdriver. Will try to catch up with the Doc tomorrow. Prax starts from (next) Monday for sure.airgun_novice wrote:Oops- Terribly sorry for picking up the lead-induced (crystal) ball and yet not picking up the pure lead. Probably will start Monday on.
These days experiencing shoulder joint pains and a feeling of "dislocation" there after waking in the mornings. Wonder if arthritis has set in or just cold damp weather causing rheumatic pains.
A couple of Qs since I do not know the ISSF rules here -
1. Can I have a cut off brass trigger shoe on an AP or does it have to be plastic ?
2. Can I have a rubber (0.5") pasted in front of and to the AP wooden grip where the fingers curve in ?
Guruji/ upacharyaji, I suppose you would be in a better position to shine in the torch above.
BTW, I think I am getting addicted to travel. If I do, I tire out; if I don't I get fagged out. Mid-life crisis ?

Re: Tips on Pistol Shooting
hvj1 guruji,
In that match, in a few shots, my mind drifted towards looking at the target and that resulted in 3 shots going in the six ring. I have noted my mistakes in my diary.
I also played a match today. Felt good after the match after scoring 355/400 (89,88,92,86) . In the third series, the last shot however went for a six. Overall, I was much happier. Will work on getting these flyers in control.
Right now I am doing box drills on "SA while trigger operation" . It is around 70 percent.
Apologies for the late reply guruji.

Now that you have noted your mistakes, you also need to write down the corrective steps you are going to take to overcome the same.In that match, in a few shots, my mind drifted towards looking at the target and that resulted in 3 shots going in the six ring. I have noted my mistakes in my diary.

Yes Guruji. I have downloaded the ISSF rules book (2013-16). Will study it in details now. A quick scroll down did not seem to cover my doubts. Hence in details. Will have to opportunity to get stance etc checked out by upacharyaji on Friday at Savarkar. Will revert on both the "follow-through".

Good job, Jitu. BTW, methinks you should now start focusing on 60 shots - just build up the stamina and the prax for the eventual objective. Great shooting and keep it up.jitu sati wrote:hey tir
