please do clarify me wheather .280 rofs eley rifle needs a special type of cartridge and wheather we can use any other .280 cartridges for this rifle

The .280 Ross is a totally different cartridge from the American .280 Remington. While they may have similar ballistics, they are not interchangeable. Really the only thing they have in common is the bullet. You risk destroying your rifle (and yourself) in the the process, if you fire the .280 Remington in the Ross and vice versa.

Not even the bullet is the same, the Ross has a .287" bullet, the Remington's is .284". If by chance the Remington cartridge should chamber in the larger diameter Ross chamber, the case would split when fired and chances are good you'd end up with the bolt in your face. Very bad idea.
In addition, the Ross bolt can be assembled incorrectly, in which case it will not lock, but can still fire, blowing back the bolt. This was fixed in the military rifles with a simple rivet, but not in sporters. Do not walk away from it, RUN!
